Uncle Khai’s garden house, located on the chef-owner’s coconut plantation, is a labour of love. He sources seafood from his friends, local fishermen, and serves local and Southern Thai cuisine using the freshest ingredients of the day. Diners, who must book a day in advance, can enjoy fresh seafood on the alfresco wooden-decked veranda with an open kitchen.
Here are some of the amazing dishes that we ate yesterday. I was too busy eating to take photographs of the freshly steamed clams or the squid poached in coconut milk. This restaurant is one of Koh Samui’s hidden gems and is in the Michelin guide.
The coconut desert was magical.
