Essyan IDP camp, Iraq

Essian camp is in the Shekhan area, Northern Iraq. There are around 15,000 Yazidi IDPs living there since 2014 when ISIS terrorists invaded Sinjar district. They are unwilling to home because it is still not safe for them to do so – even after five years. Their homes have been looted or destroyed. The clinic is run by the Amar International Charitable Foundation who would welcome donations to help keep these clinics open.

The little girl standing in front of her tent is 5 years old. She has been in the camp for five years. Her father was killed by ISIS and her mother fled from her home in Sinjar with her 23 day old baby. They ended up in Essyan and expect to be here for another ten years.
