The Republic of Namibia is in southwestern Africa, on the Atlantic coast.  Schweboo & Co felt that it was time to experience the Namib and Kalahari deserts; the desolation of the Skeleton Coast and the animals of the Etosha Game Park. Driving south from Windhoek through the Namib Desert, they experienced the joys of dirt roads and saw their first Namibian sunset over the dusty plains of the Namib Naukluft Park.

After the wonders of the great red dunes of Sossusvlei, the road took the gallant travellers’ north to Swakopmund, Namibia’s second largest town - with its German beer,  architecture and street names
