Baghdad 2011- 15 March

Another busy, busy day – starting with meetings at the Ministry of Oil, including an audience with Abd al-Karim Luaybi, the Oil Minister; 40 minutes with the Integrity Commissioner; followed by a meeting with the Economic Committee; then  afternoon tea with the highly respected and charming Ali al-Dabbagh, Minister of State and Government spokesman; lunch at DoJos Diner, and finally a reception at the British Embassy.

The Ambassador's description of hunting wild boar in northern Iraq was highly entertaining.

We returned to the compound to hear from the Compound Manager that some projectiles had passed overhead en route to the US military base during the morning. Thankfully, no damage to our compound.

We had a quick beer and retired to bed.
