Basra 2010

 This trip was short, but gave us time to meet a number of key officials, including the Governor of Basra. He arranged for us to visit Sadam's palaces - which are currently empty having been used by the British Army as Brigade Headquarters.

Perhaps they could be converted into a hotel complex? The front door was flanked by two cages that once held lions. The vehicle and security detachment was provided by the Governor of Basra.
